Cardigan Castle will host a new production by NoFit State Circus this summer.
On August 14 and 15, the excitement returns as Mwldan and Cardigan Castle welcome BAMBOO, a spectacular high-impact, high-skill, outdoor circus show created with just bamboo and human bodies.
This thrilling production includes live music, comedy, and incredible displays of strength and agility.
Each performance begins with an empty stage that is soon filled with towering bamboo sculptures built by the artists.
These structures transform and create a precarious circus playground that challenges the laws of physics.
The structures not only serve as a backdrop but become an integral part of the drama, flexing and bending under the force of world-class circus artists and acrobats.
The tension generated by these shifting constructions adds to the dramatic atmosphere that great circus theatre embodies.
NoFit State founded and collaboratively brought BAMBOO to life with Imagineer and Orit Azaz, with additional support from the Arts Council of Wales, the Foyle Foundation, and Without Walls.
This production - directed by Mish Weaver - was born from a desire to investigate what new circus narratives could be woven using UK-grown bamboo.
Tickets for BAMBOO are now on sale through Mwldan’s box office on 01239 621 200 or via mwldan.co.uk.
With audience seating limited, prompt booking is advised to secure a chance to experience this world-class performance.
Performances are suitable for all ages and will run for 45 minutes, with performances at 4.30pm and 7pm.
